Company History
Beem Patent Law Firm was founded in 2001 by Richard Beem, who formerly served as Law Clerk to the Hon. Edward S. Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and as a partner in other distinguished Chicago law firms. Beem represents U.S. and foreign clients in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the federal district courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and, through a network of carefully selected international associates, worldwide. In 2006, Beem acquired a unique, valuable collection of original historic patents signed by several of the first U.S. presidents--the Beem Presidential Patent Collection--now displayed in a virtual viewing room on Beem's web site. Having established a successful patent law practice with skilled and dedicated associates, Beem seeks a partner with substantial experience in patent prosecution.
